Ongoing Series

Print-on-demand in situ

LUST organised a mini-workshop where invited participants from different disciplines (Martijn van Boven, Catalogtree, and NEXT Architects) were bound in collaboration for one day to produce a ‘publication’ representing the convergence of their ideas. The process and the results were presented and discussed with the visiting public that same evening.

The resulting workshop was an experiment in exploring new pathways for design at the precarious edge where new media and information technologies, architecture and urban planning and graphic design overlap.

Participants:
Martijn van Boven
Catalogtree (Daniel Gross, Joris Maltha)
NEXT Architects (Michel Schreinemachers)
LUST (Jeroen Barendse, Thomas Castro, Johanna Bayerlein)

Held on Thursday 20 March 2008
Museum De Paviljoens, Almere

This movie shows the building of a geodesic dome which came to represent the meta-language developed during the workshop. You can download a pdf of the resulting publication here. This 225 page publication was conceived and developed entirely during the workshop day and is the blueprint to build this geodesic-dome on a 1:1 scale. The movie was captured with an online webcam viewable during the workshop.
