The Mercure hotel is adjacent to the main town square in The Hague. LUST decided to make the hotel the 'barometer' of the virus, the 'mercury', by simply changing the hotel into a lo-res tv. Each room got a separate red, green and blue lamp. The light intensity of each lamp was controlled by a central computer. This effectively turned each room into a pixel of a color tv. We did not wanted to use the facade only as a screen, but also use the three-dimensional aspects of the rooms in the final result.
